Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque Organizes Prophet Birthday Event

Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque and Center (AFMC) in Jumeirah, Dubai organized a religious event for the Prophet Birthday entitled "the Gifted Mercy". The event was attended by Dr. Mohammed Ayada Al-Kubaisi, Grand Mufti of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, Sheikh Dr. Fares Al Mustafa, preacher and imam of Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque, and Abdul Salam Al Marzouqi, Director General of Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Center, and school students in Dubai.

After the recitation of Holy Quran verses, Abdul Salam Al Marzouqi, Director General, AFMC, delivered a speech in which he thanked Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, the event's sponsor, for his charitable and cultural contributions. He also thanked the university and school students who participated in the event, and congratulated HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, ruler of Dubai, their highnesses the rulers of the Emirates, members of the Federal Supreme Council, and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the Prophet Birthday.

Hala Nabhan, a student at the International Emirates School, said in a speech she delivered in Arabic: "We, the beloved of the Prophet, celebrate His birthday by following His Sunnah and His example, and being guided by His high morals and kind treatment of others which would make us eager to learn more about His enlightened life."

Dr. Sheikh Fares Al Mustafa, preacher and imam of AFMC mosque explained the verse "And We have not sent you, except as a mercy to the worlds." He said that the "message of the Prophet (PBUH) was a message of mercy, forgiveness, tolerance and affection. God sent Him with a general, complete and enlightening message for all people."

Dr. Eesa Al Bastaki, President of the University of Dubai, talked about the ethics of the Prophet (PBUH) known for His virtues and high morals. God the Almighty said: "And you are of a great moral character." He added: "The Prophet (PBUH) complied by the Holy Quran's teachings and verses. His life became an embodiment of the Holy Quran in words and deeds."

"Our efforts today to protect the environment and ensure its sustainability are inspired by the lessons we learned from the Prophet who ordered not to cut trees and destroy crops even in times of war irrespective of whether their presence is beneficial to the enemy. The Prophet gave utmost importance to the sustainable farming, the treatment of livestock, the conservation of natural resources and the protection of the wild environment," said Dr. Al Bastaki.

Rayan Salem, a student at the International Emirates School, said in a speech he delivered in English that the Prophet's life is like food for the hearts; it is part of God's religion and act of worship that makes us closer to God. Studying the Prophet's life has great benefits, especially that he is a role model for all of us in faith, worship and morals.

Dr. Mohammed Ayada Al-Kubaisi, Grand Mufti of the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities, spoke in detail about the Prophet who was sent by God the Almighty as a mercy to people in general, believers and unbelievers, human beings and jinn. God said: "And We have not sent you, except as a mercy to the worlds." Mercy is a fundamental identifying feature of the Prophet. Dr. Al-Kubaisi gave several examples about the Prophet's mercy.

At the end of the event, the audience listened to readings of the Prophet's biography by Sheikh Jaafar Al Barzanji, and reciters delivered prophetic praises simulating the life of the Prophet (PBUH).

It is not the first time that AFMC organizes such events that shed the light on the life and high morals of the Prophet (PBUH).
