From the land of Dubai, the land of tolerance and amity, its minarets rise high to be standing symbols of the grandeur of the Noble Message. In their majesty, the minarets seem to reach up to heaven from where the Divine Message of guidance and peace has descended.
This edifice, with all its spiritual and physical beauties, incarnates the meaning of tolerance. Every bit of it represents the Divine Light and Forgiveness, every corner the tenets of true guidance.
It is Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque & Centre in Dubai. It is an architectural and spiritual masterpiece that relates the glorious history of Islam to all people, a wonderful creation of the man of business and goodness: Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor.
The Mosque was founded in 1986, expanded in 2003, demolished in 2010, and rebuilt in 2011.
Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque & Centre was built in Dubai over an area of 8620 m2 of which the building occupied 3850 m2. It took less than a year to finish construction of the mosque.
Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque & Centre is not just a place of worship, but a point of attraction for the youth of both genders where lectures and symposiums are continuously held.
In its circles, sessions are held for knowledge and practice. Just as mosques have throughout the Islamic history been fervently sought by knowledge seekers and devout believers who aspire to the Hereafter, management of this mosque has directed all energies and capabilities to ingrain the values of tolerance and amity which are intrinsic to the Message of Islam. We stretch our hearts to you before our hands and our warmest feelings welcome you before our eyes! That is what Allah (Glorified is He) teaches us in the Glorious Qur’an: “People, We created you all from a single man and a single woman, and made you into races and tribes so that you should recognize one another. In God’s eyes, the most honoured of you are the ones most mindful of Him: God is All Knowing, All Aware.” [Surat Al-Hujurat: 13].
