Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre has unveiled a comprehensive programme of religious and charitable initiatives to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan. The programme is held under the patronage of prominent philanthropist Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, reflecting his longstanding commitment to supporting community initiatives and fostering the values of solidarity and generosity.

Throughout the blessed month, the mosque will host a distinguished group of reciters and imams to lead worshippers in the Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers. Sheikh Dr Faris Al Mustafa, Imam and Khateeb of the mosque, will lead during the first four days of Ramadan. He will be followed by Sheikh Ismail Hassan Ismail Ahmed, Imam of Umm Al Shajar Mosque in the Kingdom of Bahrain, from 5 to 10 Ramadan.

From 11 to 15 Ramadan, prayers will be led by Sheikh Osama Hashem Al Safi, an Emirati reciter and member of Qur’an competition judging panels. Thereafter, Sheikh Mohammed Mubarak Abdullah Mubarak, Imam of Yusuf Fakhro Mosque in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will lead from 16 to 20 Ramadan. Sheikh Dr Faris Al Mustafa will then conclude the month by leading the prayers during the final ten nights, a period of particular spiritual significance.

In line with its enduring charitable mission, the mosque distributes more than 2,000 Iftar meals daily to those observing the fast within its courtyards. Over the past five years, nearly 300,000 meals have been served, underscoring the sustainability of its outreach efforts and their tangible impact on the wider community.

Committed to promoting intercultural dialogue, the mosque also welcomes non-Muslim communities, including representatives of foreign consulates, to learn about the tolerant values of Islam and the culture of the United Arab Emirates. Guests will be invited to attend a special Iftar on Wednesday, 21 Ramadan, corresponding to 11 March 2026, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening bridges between diverse cultures.

The religious programme further features daily lessons after Asr prayer entitled “Provisions for the Fasting”, delivered by Sheikh Dr Faris Al Mustafa. Each session explores a key Islamic value, accompanied by practical guidance on its application in everyday life. In addition, a daily online segment titled “Paths of Light” will be broadcast after Isha prayer via Instagram, offering spiritual reflections and educational insights designed to enrich followers’ experience of Ramadan and deepen their appreciation of Islamic values in an accessible and engaging format.

Abdul Salam Al Marzouqi, Director General of the mosque, emphasised that these initiatives align with the mosque’s mission to advance the principles of tolerance and social cohesion. He noted that the Ramadan programme has been carefully designed to provide a holistic spiritual and communal experience, reflecting the essence of the Holy Month and embodying the United Arab Emirates’ vision of fostering unity and harmonious coexistence across society.
