Al Farooq Omar bin Al Khattab Mosque and Centre in Dubai has concluded the Summer 2025 programme, which took place over four days (8, 9, 15 and 16 July 2025). The event was held under the generous patronage of philanthropist and businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, with notable participation from government entities and subject-matter experts — a reflection of the Centre’s ongoing commitment to its social role in promoting religious culture and creative knowledge across all segments of society.

Now in its second year, the programme featured three interactive workshops in collaboration with various government bodies, aimed at equipping participants with practical skills in digital creativity, media production, and public health. This summer initiative forms part of Al Farooq Centre’s strategic vision to elevate the role of religious institutions in community development, by integrating modern arts and skills in the service of cultural and spiritual values.

The activities kicked off with a workshop titled “Content Creation Skills: From Idea to Impact,” held in partnership with Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, and delivered by social media consultant Saud Mohammed Hassan Al Hammadi. The session explored the tools and techniques necessary to produce effective digital content—whether for personal use or professional purposes—highlighting the process of shaping ideas into compelling written and visual messages that resonate with today’s digital audiences.

Al Hammadi stated during the session: “Content creation is no longer a luxury — it’s a vital tool of influence. Empowering individuals to express their ideas professionally is the key to success in the digital age.”

The following day featured a workshop titled “The Art of Photography, Directing, and Video Editing” led by professional photographer Essa Al Zahidi. Participants were introduced to the basics of photography and image composition, different types of shots, television directing techniques, and photo editing fundamentals using Adobe Photoshop.

Al Zahidi praised the pioneering role played by Khalaf Al Habtoor in supporting such initiatives, saying: “We need continuous support to teach the new generation how to translate their vision into complete creative projects. I thank Khalaf Al Habtoor for believing in the importance of this type of community-based education, which genuinely shapes the future of our youth.”

The final two days of the programme featured a health awareness workshop titled “Healthy Lifestyles” delivered in collaboration with Dubai Health. The session was part of broader efforts to promote health awareness and prevent chronic diseases, while also encouraging healthy daily habits within the community.

The workshop aimed to underline the importance of preventative healthcare as a foundation for a better life. It covered a range of topics, including: raising awareness of non-communicable chronic diseases, oral and dental health education and its connection to overall wellbeing, and nutritional guidance focused on healthy eating as a means of disease prevention and immune support.

Attendees also had access to a range of free medical services, including basic health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index), bone density scans for early detection of osteoporosis, and one-on-one consultations with medical and nutrition experts. Informational brochures were distributed, offering guidance on healthy habits and encouraging attendees to adopt a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle.

Organisers emphasised that such programmes play a vital role in building a health-conscious society that understands the value of prevention as a way of life—not just a response to illness. Hassan Ahmed Hassan, Director of Operations and Community Health at Dubai Health, commented: “These community initiatives are not just events — they’re powerful tools for raising awareness, saving lives, and improving quality of life. We’re proud to collaborate with Al Farooq Centre on this front.”

At the closing of the programme, Al Farooq Centre’s Director General, Abdul Salam Al Marzouqi, extended heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and participants. He emphasised that the success of this second edition reflects the community’s confidence in the Centre’s mission, adding: “We deeply appreciate the continued support of Khalaf Al Habtoor, who views culture and knowledge as cornerstones for building a cohesive and enlightened society. Events like this demonstrate that a mosque can serve a holistic civilisational role — one that unites worship and education, reflection and action.”
