Adam, the father of humanity (peace be upon him)
Adam (peace be upon him) is the father of humanity and the first of all prophets. His name answers the questions concerning the beginning of human life on this earth and ends all the corrupt assumptions created by human intellect. Allah breathed into him part of His spirit then the human history began. Allah the Almighty says in the Glorious Qur’an: “We have indeed created man in the best of moulds, Then do We abase him (to be) the lowest of the low,- Except such as believe and do righteous deeds: For they shall have a reward unfailing.” [Surat At-Tin: 4-6].
Adam (peace be upon him) entered heaven and lived in Paradise with his wife Eve enjoying everything there, and his enemy Satan was awaiting him and was whispering to him saying: “O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?” [Surat Taha: 120]. He went on luring him till he and his wife ate from the tree “Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced” [Surat Taha: 121], so they were commanded to leave heaven to enforce the predetermination.
(The Prophethood of Adam (peace be upon him)
Adam was the first human being, the father of humanity, and the first of prophets. The Glorious Qur’an did not mention an explicit provision that he was granted prophethood as other prophets and messengers were given. However, Allah said that He chose Adam “Allah did choose Adam and Noah.” [Surat Ali `Imran: 33].
The death of Adam (peace be upon him)
Adam (peace be upon him) died and left behind a great offspring after he reached nine hundred and sixty years old. Eve died one year after the death of Adam (peace be upon him) and she was buried beside him.
